GAMBLER in Point Pleasant. Half day trips are perfect and the crew is top notch. Even if the keeper fluke aren't biting, there's always something on the bottom for your kids to reel up. The Gambler crew makes a point to show ALL the kids different fish (skates, robins, dogs, etc.) that are being caught before they are released. I've taken 7 "first timers" on these trips ages 4-7 and they all WILL go back. Try not to let the kids know about sea sickness. Keep it out of their heads. I've seen over cautious parents make the kids sick at the dock.

Surprised nobody mentioned sea bass. Hands down the best choice for young children. They're easy to catch and lots of action as soon as you hit bottom so your kids will get the feel of an aggressive hit right away. The Golden Eagle in Belmar has afternoon trips that are perfect for children. It's also a nice stable boat so less worries about bouncy seas.

I like this answer the best.

My experience seeing kids fluking on party boats at age 4 and 5 is holding the rod for 2 hours and then putting it down from boredom.

Gambler is my choice. Great crew , always alot of energy on the boat and the boat is immaculate. For Dads that have girls that is a huge plus
