I think that that is just blackfishing. We all know how you can be fishing next to a guy who is catching fish after fish, using the same rig and bait, while you catch none. I have seen conventional outfish jigs and vice versa, but you never know if it was the spot the fishermen was in or if it was just his time to catch. I have to believe that the same crab, whether fished on a conventional rig or a jig, have an even chance of getting bit. It is what happens after the bite that the odds change in favor of conventional.

I use 1 - 3oz banana jigs unpainted. They cost about 75 cents.
