Wow, very sad.... Not sure what the conditions were like but from the photos they did not look good.

Wondering how this actually happened... Being told the anchor rope got caught in the prop. Maybe the prop turning tightend the anchor rope so tight to the anchor it pulled the stern under water?? Or , maybe being stuck on the prop, it turned the boat around with the stern into the seas instead of the bow and they got swamped by a wave over the stern.

I remember hearing a while back a similar thing happened to a baseball or football player down in Florida. Anchor got stuck, they tied it off to a cleat in the stern of the boat and gunned the motor to try and free.... That made the stern drop and they got swamped by a wave.

Either way it's a stark reminder that you need to be careful out there and be thinking clearly when unexpecting things happen.

I would sign the papers right now to be fishing at 84 years of age with my best friend.

If true that's horrible.

That was the live account from the survivor saying that they just motored away....I am not condemning anybody as it is possible that he was confused and hypothermic, but if another boater truly ignored an emergency such as this it is criminal and they will have to live with this for the rest of their lives..........
