Surprising. Carp in the States are usually not that hard to catch because they are underfished. Maybe they didn't like the heat today. Did you chum?

I never fish near the parking lot. You're right, it is very shallow there and all I have ever caught there is small catfish and turtles. If you walk down the abandon train tracks to the left of the lot, there are a couple shore spots along there. I always fish all the way in the back. The water is deeper back there.

yes i did, 5 cans of whole corn with the spod rocket as well as boilies. The weather was fine...windy and the preassure went down because of the storm...

I didn t fish there neither. I was on the spot you are talking about...opposite to the parking spots. on the deeper area!

will try the Hackensack next time

If you are willing to put in 5 hours and chum, you should have great success once you learn the spots better. I am good for about 20 mins and I have to move which means I am usually one fish and done.
