I'm not the best guy to ask because I don't target them much open water, I spend a lot of time fishing for pike and muskie through the ice. I was using my carp gear: 11' cabelas predator with 50lb power pro and 80lb floro leader. I hear big bucktails produce a lot of fish, also big jerkbaits and crankbaits.
