![]() With the PFD on the person just could have floated and would have been more than likely have been rescued alive. Once he started swimming all the energy that could have been used to survive just floating along with the pfd keeping him upright was consumed. I'm sure others would dispute my reasoning. Just my personal opinion, not a fact.
