Nice trip Howard, Jon and Chad. I am not suprised you hammered them and got both pools. You guys are the best fisherman I know. Wish I could have joined you. Nice to help out the peeps that were not felling well and the mates.

The mates didn't make out with our overage this time, as there were a few folks who didn't get their limit.

Yupp same thing here, some guys didn't get their bingo fish so I shared the wealth. btw the guy next to me was using a jig for awhile and didn't get a tap. Only snagged one in the arse, lol. then he switched to squid strips and didn't do well either. The whole squids were working for me in the morning then died off, had to switch over to the clams. Something I learned, a long three hook rig with a 6 1/2 ft rod and a short round guy at the rail makes for difficulty in swinging three fish over the rail challenging, LOL. And I tried three setups and out of the Diawa LD30, Shimano Torium 30, Avet SX, the Avet SX had the most power... That little sucker keeps amazing me. Gonna change the handle over to the round power knob though.

It was a great trip as always ! We kept it fun and ball busting was there too. I don't know how the other customers felt with our crew taking both pools! Hey never leave the rail and keep on fishing and you will win! Thanks again for the invite !

They come either way.. I use my Sx and Mx single speed with no issues. But do have a 2speed for deep drops.. and it does make a difference when you are fishing that deep water and lots of weight.. That Avet cranks it in like nothing

My Avet I was using is a single speed. I agree with SaltLife that the 2-speed is really only needed for deep dropping with 5lbs of lead! Single speed SX pulled 10lbs of seabass and 20oz of lead with little probs. Buttt that being said, after a few hours, the 2-speed would probably be nice to have, lol.

And btw the guys using Avets... I heard about issues only after a few trips, so I washed mine down and then tore it down and sure as hell there was water in weird places. So I greased the crap out of it, ReelX'd the bearings, and Cal'd the carbontex drag washer... highly recommended BEFORE you have problems.
