I now recall it was the mid 80 s when I last used the ramp, not good at low tide. Had my 16' Duranautic totaled by a sailboat in the Navisink. Had my kids and a friend out when a line got tanged in my transducer. As i was trying to clear it my daughter yelled, Dad, Dad a boat is coming straight at us. A 25 - 30 foot sail boat under motor power with captain seated in pulpit hit me broadside. Put a huge dent but luckly did not come up into the boat. Got an insurance settlement from him and bought my current 85 Sea Nymph aluminum center console. Oh well will try to avoid another incident like that, Can t wait for spring..... Walt

I guess you had a bad day?

Used that ramp for years after abandoning Fair Haven. They all have yearly fees. and have had them since the 1990's. And yes the police station is next door too. So no surprise there.

I used that ramp crabbing from May up to November and never saw any concrete and boroken rocks except for dirt area on the wrong side of the ramp's bulkhead and concrete driveway.

I have towed people into a lot of ramps d Rumson is a very well maintained concrete ramp.

I've towed 25 footers in stern tow with my own 25 foot tow boat thru the twisting channel. All problem free except for the busy maneuvering. The Channel sticks were there every time I've been since the 1990's. I hit it pretty much every week all summer long crabbing. And the L shaped floating dock is fine.

Low moon tides will need a further reach into the river though. But it does drop off realtively quickly.

Perhaps the $100 fee makes people see stuff? LMAO
