Typically 2-3 oz. works for me in the D when i want worms or chicken livers to stay in one place. Fishfinder rig is good. Takes some weight to hold bottom there, but you don't want the fish to feel the weight right away.

Was up river this past wekend in NY and KILLED smallies on olive helgie jigs! they destroyed my helgremites!!! 40+ fish in and around deeper water below or in faster water...low water warm weather = less oxegen pools below rapids!!! the fish didn't even care that i had to time my casts between tubers, kayakers, & rafts!!! guy fishing with (Tom) did fantastic with crawlers and pulled a fat rainbow out. small green plastics worked on the bottom when the smallies & rock bass ruined my last helgie jig.

1/8 jig heads Berkley gulp 2"-3" grubs or anything really from the Gulp line. Clean out a bunch of heads ahead of time to have ready as you will get snagged. Thats all we use below Easton.
