I'm heading to West Virginia next week and I'll be fishing the Monongahela that has flatheads and blues. It would make my summer if I caught one half that size. Nice fish. |

Man I used to catch these size flatheads, channel, and blue cats all the time when I was younger "jug" and limb-line fishing in TN and Ga. Catch smaller bluegill in the late afternoon and Hook them in the back and send them down over night and be prepared to chase them in the am. Chicken livers also works, but they ten to fall off over night. Cut Mullet or other bait is effective. Have also used "old and aged" shrimp, meaning they stink, bad! JUG = 2 liter soda bottle (painted orange for visibility), depending on the depth, a length of sting, and a hook...simple. Not sure if this is legal in NJ??
