I can't remember if anyone has ever fallen into the river and drowned along that stretch. It's all about insurance and liability. If a fisherman or drunk or anyone accidentally fell into the river and drowned, who would be sued? No one wants to be sued so you can see the reason. I guess we just have to wait till the next natural disaster to take out this fence to open back up the real estate along the river hopefully not anytime soon NJ has been through enough already

Or just get an old aluminum boat with a small motor for 1500$. They are everywhere
