Re: No More Keeping Pout.
I wanted to refresh this thread. Yesterday I went out on the Jamaica 2. I had a very good day and caught 53 Ling and a nice Flounder. The Pout were so thick, there were times I was catching 5 Pout to one Ling. Most people don't realize the restriction, even though most people don't eat them. Just another example of insane fish regs. with no science behind it.

Re: No More Keeping Pout.
Does this mean you won't be able to buy them in the foodstores either???
If you like them, eat them, they look just like ling fillets when cleaned. I'm sure the conservation guys are getting just as sick of the BS regs they have to enforce also. I'd say they are more concerned with Short Bass, too many bass or Fluke and out of season fish in the buckets. |

Re: No More Keeping Pout.
I've been telling people about this the last couple of years, but they all think I am joking. I wish I was joking. If you can't tell the difference between a pout and a wolffish, you certainly can't tell the difference between a flounder and a fluke or a weakfish and a striped bass.
