My opinion, Lake Ontario has Kings, Steelhead, domestic rainbows, browns and Atlantics that live in harmony both in the lake and in estuaries during their spawn. Why would the introduction of kings and steelheads into the Raritan and Hudson be any different? I'm sure NJ did their due diligence before bartering with NY to stock that many fingerlings. Personally I hope it gains traction, think it would be a great addition to this area.

The raritan already has that opportunity with trout, and it doesnt seem to establish any anadromous trout. (As far as I know!)
Maybe chinook would work but last thing I want to see is the raritan turn into a fraction of Pulaski!! Havoc!

I like the raritan as is, it has a lot going on for it, such as quality smallmouth.
And I'm optimistic that one day there is a sustainable American Shad run/fishery. I still remember catching my first in the raritan right around spring trout season. Last thing I wanted to catch was a trout after hooking up with 5 of those shad

Wow I can’t believe I’m reading this! I started working over by Roosevelt Park Pond, have fished there a few times and can confirm I reeled in a Ganesha.. I can’t believe this has happened to others? Hilarious, curious whose idea it was to stock Ganesha statues
