Default Rod Identification

Anyone have a guess as to the origin of this rod? A friend bought a house in Spring Lake, NJ and this rod came with the house. It is graphite, 11'4", 770 grams with the butt end. The upper part is one piece 9'5" long, 440 grams. For such a large rod it feels pretty light. I believe the wood butt end is the original but I have no way of knowing. There is no writing or markings on the rod whatsoever. the white mark under the first guide is residue from masking tape. Just curious about it.

No idea but a cool surf rod that looks like it was custom built because those don't look like factory wraps and you have all that fancy detail and contour on the rod butt. That's a really nice rod and I'll bet its fishy too

Nice rod.. looks old school , not really modern, but very nicely done.. I would put a big old school spinning reel on it, cast a bunker head or a whole squid out beyond the breakers, and see what bites.. It looks like it would have no trouble subduing one of those 40 lb rays into submission... Bet it would cast a 6oz sinker 100 yards...
