14 lb and 7 lb
Made another doubleheader fishing trips today. Didn’t get a hit in the 66 degree tidal Delaware River behind Arm and Hammer ballpark in Trenton, NJ, while casting a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line for an hour during an incoming tide and small craft advisory south wind. Saw an osprey and bald eagle 🦅 flying together. Took pics. Went carping in flooded 73 degree Robert G Martin Lake this evening before a thunderstorm. Threw out a can of ShopRite extra crispy whole kernel corn 🌽, then caught 5 brown bullheads to 12”, a bluegill, a 7 lb common carp and a 14 lb snapping turtle 🐢 on my last cast of the day with corn bait on 12 lb test line. The turtle clawed my hand. Landed 4 snappers and 19 common carp at the lake this year. Took pics.

Re: 14 lb and 7 lb
Little switch up worked well for you. Those snappers are nasty. Catch a bunch of them in a little pond I go to. Usually on hot dogs. BIG! Over 20 pounds for sure. I let my son enjoy fighting them then just cut the line. I ain’t messin with them lol. Thought I had a better picture but that’s him fighting the thing

Re: 14 lb and 7 lb
I usually catch them upwards of 20lbs in North Jersey reservoir and just cut the line after a good fight. I will not mess with them..

Re: 14 lb and 7 lb
Do anglers now purposely target snappers for catch & release? They were always a nuisance bycatch.
