Flood fishing
Went ultralight jigging in a flooded 42 degrees Central Jersey lake this afternoon on a cloudy, cold day with a west wind small craft advisory after a 1” rainfall. Air temp was 45 degrees. There was current in the lake because of the flood water release into the lake. A few fish swirled. Half of the cars in the parking lot were from NY. Only saw 5 fishermen. Caught and released 2 yellow perch to 9” and 20 white perch to 9” with Walmart red worm halves on two gold hooks and an unpainted 1/16 oz leadhead jig on 4 lb test line. Lost a jig on the bottom of the lake to a snag. Landed 514 fish in 15 trips to the same spot this year.
