Default South Branch Trout Skunk

I hit the stretch south hard Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Had some pretty high expectations since they stocked the SB on Friday...

I threw everything I had at them, Spinners, Trout Magnets, Gulp Power Bait, Gulp Trout Worms and came up empty. Talked to a lot of people fishing the area and the same story from them.

Back at later in the week hopefully with better results.

Wait another month, after all the leaves are down and the water is colder. Then they will bite. Andy S. will tell ya.........

Same as it ever was.

I always start after all the leaves are off the trees and done mowing down the rivers. Best time in my opinion. You’ll get your Trout fix Cap’n! No worries!!!

The fish I encountered were hunkered down. Caught some on power bait and mop flies. I could not get them interested in any type of lure. People throwing spinners and other faster moving lures weren't getting anything.

90 % of stocked trout require time to acclimate to water temps , holding water and feeding in the wild .
The low hanging fruit gets picked but the majority will need a couple of weeks to fire back up !
I fish all winter and find plenty of trout on major stocked waters with minimum of anglers , sometimes go for days not seeing anyone .
Wait a while you’ll connect !

i crushed them in the rain the other day... the leaves were annoying. couldn't use certain lures, but they were happy to hit the jigs that i could drift through the leaf floatilla.
