And That's A Wrap!
Took a last second trip up to my favorite place on Earth with some of the NJF crew and the better half to close out the 2021-22 ice fishing season to chase salmnz and macks.
Must have marked over a 100 fish in 80 fow on Saturday and only have 1 bite to show for it. On Sunday we found some micro perch to play with after the rain pushed through. I am cleaning up and getting ready to drive back when the wifey screams "the line won't stop running out!". I run over and carefully tighten the drag to slow it down and after a long 5 minutes fight on 4# test Chrisper grabs the beast. Hundreds of dollars in shiny and snazzy lures and this thing eats a dot jig tipped with micro gulp. I give up!! I can never get enough of the scenery in Lake George. Had a decent ice season but I am ready for open water!

Re: And That's A Wrap!
Duane great pics and story. Lake George is just one of those special places to visit. How in God's name did you prevent Chris from photobombing any of those shots.
Beautiful laker by Mrs. Duane and yes that is definitely a part of heaven up there. 100 fish marked and only one taker, you guys must have been going crazy! Thanks goodness the person in the red winter coat bailed you out....just saying! Great job and more so beautiful scenery. |

Re: And That's A Wrap!
the lake trout up there must've been drunk... this one hit a tip up set for salmon about a foot under the ice in 12 ft of water...

Re: And That's A Wrap!
I love it up there, getting ready to sell my house in PA, retired December 1st 2021, got a place in the village, 2 minute drive to the lake, also got a nice laker off west brook, out in front of the pink roof on a small perch jig, the thing had 7 smelt in it's stomach and went for the tiny jig !!! Can't wait to sell my house and get up there full time, going back up this week, weather is going to be great, still like 14" solid ice. You should come up mid Sept to end of Oct, fish by the green docks where the boat the Adirondack moors, I catch a lot of Landlocked Salmon right from the sidewalk there on nympths
