Default Sunday Ice Report

Cold cold cold. 1 degree this morning in the Andover area. Saw lotta guys at cranberry. Andover bait store packed with anxious n eager ice anglers. Coldest I've been on the water I think. Warmed up by 9ish and no issues setting up n getting settled in. 4 inches all around. My buddy lost a crappie almost immediately at the hole. Than that was it till like 1030. A few false flags. Finally a tip down went down and a pickeral was landed. Then I lost another fish jigging. Very weak bite. Nothing till about 1ish... i hooked a pickerel that pulled the rod off the holder. I did a foot 1st slide and grabbed it right b4 it went in. At 2ish we had another big pickerel that cut our 6lb test against the ice. That was that. Bout 5 inches by 3pm. We jigged... we sonared... we used the Aquaview. Nothing happening below. We tried from 5ft to 30ft. No signs of life below. We moved a few times. Most of the other anglers picked away at a fish here or there...but generally speaking it was terrible action. Let's hope it picks up.
All fish caught on fat heads.

Good report. Sounds like enough action to keep it interesting. Hopatcong was pretty slow also. I got a few perch and saw a few pickerel come through the ice. Heard one guy tell another he got one perch and one bluegill all morning. With the sun and almost no wind, it was more comfortable out there than I thought it was going to be.

Took my nephew out yesterday afternoon, and once again, my lack of knowledge killed us. Marked tons of fish on the graph all afternoon, couldnt make them bite. Finally landed a 12 inch bass just before dark. A good 4 to 4 1/2 inches of ice.

i fished sat, sun, mon... I can tell you sunday was def the toughest of those days, especially after early morning, but picked back up as it got dark... I'm assuming the pressure change from the front coming in did something to put many fish out of whack.
