Harris Lake NC -July 2020:
Haven't fished much but starting to explore more and more. Hot as hell here, everyday 90 or better, then T storms at night. Been around Harris Lake which is nearby, BIG place ! I used to think people from NJ spent a lot of money on outdoor toys till I moved to NC. Local main roads on the weekends are packed with people pulling mobile homes, boats and ATV's. Harris lake is a cool place with loads of nice boats, checked out a ramp on the other side of the lake last week and people were launching boats 4 at a time, all nice expensive stuff too !
Wife got into kayaking now and I joined her last week, the water is oddly WARM ! Had a charter pull up near us last week and starting fishing, they hooked up in short order, looks like to the lake is loaded with LMB ! http://www.greggofish.com Will get around to fishing again soon I hope, Western NC trout fishing never stops in the Smokies but that's a 4 to 5 hr drive, Topsail beach is 2.5 hours from me. Busy times as I am set to move from the rental to the new digs in Fuquay-Varina. Will be looking to hit the Smith river again in Va in the fall as well as Wataugua in NC. The surf has an amazing assortment of fish, even Tarpon !! Last edited by AndyS; 07-28-2020 at 12:52 PM.. |
