tuff start but great finish
hit the cong at 6:30am saturday morning in search of the crappie.headed to the first spot and anchor up.1st cast a nice 14" crappie,a real good fish.nothing after that.stayed and practiced for 3/4 of an hour and deceide to hit another spot.we anchor up and both hook uo on our first casts.two nice crappie and we think we're in,wrong!!!!!.not another bite for 1/2 an hour.so with time running out we run to a spot we had them good earlier in the year.we anchor up and start catching them one after another.all you had to do was cast the bobber & jig out and let it sit.with in seconds you were on.kept some for dinner and played c&r for an hour and headed in.tried going back for the afternoon bite but the wind had a different plan.did not go out sunday.not sure what had the lake shut down but i am sure that the 3 days of south wind might have had a little to do with it.

Re: tuff start but great finish
glad to hear that some 14" crappies are being caught now. after the trout stocking for the kdc on sat we headed back to the river styx area and found the numbers but most were small. hope to find the larger fish after the weather calms down.
