Default Anyone fish Deal Lake???

Looking for a little info/tips on fishing Deal Lake in NJ. Me and the wife plan on making the trip up there Sunday to try it out. I hear it's pretty shallow. Any info to where on the lake would be our best bet for LM bass. Thanks in advance guy's.

It is all shoreline fishing. Bridges, docks, blowdowns and weeds. Not all that great any more but used to have some very nice bass and pickerel.

I hear it was in pretty bad shape years back, did they clean it up since then? Some say the fishing is good, and some say dont even waste your time.

Hurricane Sandy inundated it with saltwater in Oct. 2012 & there was a fishkill.

It returned to freshwater in 2013 & NJDF&W stocked LMB's, Panfish, Northern Pike & Channel Cats. The fish population is recovering.

An angler who lives on the lake said that for the past 2 years he has observed lots of river herring spawning,.........a good sign.
