Exclamation Time Running out to protest 200-foot rule!

Folks: Just an FYI. The Boat Regulation Commission has this year TABLED enacting rule prohibiting boats from anchoring less than 200 feet off Lake Hopatcong's shoreline between May 15 and Sept. 15.

This means it can be considered again in 2018. That said, we're asking you to support all fishermen on the lake by telling commission members you oppose the rule. The deadline for public comment is February 3, so you need to act fast.

To comment, e-mail BRC acting chair Edward Harrison Jr. at LPPMSB@gw.njsp.org.

Many thanks, and keep on fishing!

Question Re: Time Running out to protest 200-foot rule!

I still find it funny how they enforce these laws. Will someone come out with a tape measure to so how far you are actually from the shore ? At a distance it can be hard to see if someone is anchored or not, especially in a small boat.
