Fish and Game Council meeting 1/10/17:
Since I have plenty of time on my hands while healing from my laparoscopic appendectomy surgery, I thought I would try to attend as many meetings as I can before I return to work. Headed down the turnpike and got off exit 7A, the meeting is near Trenton. Tough for me as I have C.H.S. (CanthearS#&T) The Tinnitus sucks in meeting rooms so I actually missed half of what was said, time for a hearing aid I guess.
Lisa Barno talked about the situation going on at Lake Hopatcong. There was also in an in depth discussion about some boat ramp in Salem County and a lengthy presentation on license sales. Nice to go to the meeting and see familiar faces on the Council. Remember these meetings take place once a month and the public can attend and also speak to the Council about any concerns you might have. A few pointers if you go to the meeting: Pack a lunch. There are no delis, pizza joints or even super markets near the meeting place. GPS. If you use your GPS and type in 1 Eldridge Rd. it will take you to the middle of a townhouse development, don't ask me how I know. Try maybe using East Eldridge Road. The meeting place is near lake Assunpink and Stone Tavern. All this information will come out on line at the F&G website. You can read the monthly minutes from all the different Council meetings. Hope to see everyone at the Fisheries meeting on January 21st, some really big news will be presented at the upcoming meeting. http://www.nj.gov/dep/fgw/fgcnclmtg.htm |

Did F&G have a position on the 200' no anchoring zone proposal?

Re: Fish and Game Council meeting 1/10/17:
I kind of look at the Fish and Game Council getting involved with the Lake Hopatcong situation like this..... when the news channels have no news to report but have to report on something. I'm not saying this in a bad way, but feel F&G's involvement with this is kind of neither here nor there. I feel it's more about the home owners at LH than it is about the fishing. I'm sure the KDC will do a great job in handling this as they have done a great job with other things fishing related at LH.

Re: Fish and Game Council meeting 1/10/17:
Andy - on the agenda linked from the F&G website it says to use Upper Freehold Twp for your GPS, which on google maps puts you inside the WMA and not into the new "downtown" of robbinsville
I work from home on tuesdays and am about 20 minutes from where they meet ...i might have to take an early lunch one day and stop in to one of the meetings |

Re: Fish and Game Council meeting 1/10/17:
Robbinsville is kind of like Trenton. Meeting place is real close to Stone Tavern Lake in the Assunpink WMA. Found it ok the 1st time, 2nd time ended up in a townhouse development, but found it after that.
