Default Mud hole tackle ?

Hey guys. Picking up a new boat this weekend that will be able to take that trip..I have no clue what kind of gear I need out there for sharks or whatever. Biggest reel I have is new shimano baitrunner 600. Looking to get a cheap setup for now how is the Penn senator 9/0?

That's what I picked up for tuna about 15 years ago , it's handled makos to 300,bigeyes to 180n the chunk...,yft, lft, but... It will suffice, and it still has its original drag, of which you can get upgraded if you wanted to.

I have been using the 9/0 Senators for shark for over 30 years. Totally bulletproof. I caught up to 500lbs. Clean and lubricate, change drags to Smoothdrag dry and it will be the smoothest you ever used. Don't know about the new ones from China but all the old Senators were the best.

I assume you have all the proper safety and landing gear for such a venture?
