![]() Question ??? If I were to buy a used boat either a 24'cc with twins or a 29'cc with twins and they cost the same amount of money (obviously the 29'cc would be older) how much more would it be to maintain the bigger boat? Other then the cost of storage and fuel and stuff like that. So I guess I mean to winterize it and to get it ready in the spring? Are there a lot of hidden cost that would make it not practical to get a 29' cc over a 24-25'cc

![]() All things being equal, I would not expect much difference in maintenance costs.
Your slip fees might be higher, depending on your marina, but as far as systems on the boat, they should be about the same. Get a survey done prior to purchase, you don't want to end up with a boat that has transom rot.

![]() What are the make, year, model and hours on the engines for both? There are clearly some engines that have known issues that you want to avoid so a lot of the difference of ongoing costs are going to center around which engine you have.

![]() It is not just 4/5 fleet. There are things that. You will never think of and the bigger the boat the boat the more it cost. Get the boat size
You think is best And add 2 feet And 10k. Good luck. |

![]() There is no replacement for displacement ! Cost of boats is not so much dock fees but condition of hulls , engines etc is ur real, cost of operation . Dock , insurance , storage would be fixed unknown cost of boat n engine repairs are the real fly in the ointment .
If u can do a lot of ur own work u can save however marine supplies are costly & so is good labor ! If one boat is in considerably better shape than ur choice is easy , both about equal then choice is yours , a good survey from a reputable surveyor can certainly save money in long run . |
