Default Monksville North Ramp warning

Fished Monksville on 3/29 and we found a shit load of rusty nails all over the north ramp in the water where you back in...it wasn't a handful, it was like a buckets worth.....awesome....
I called the NJ Park Police District 3 headquarters the next morning in Andover and asked the girl who answered if this was the right office to report the shenanigans. She said it was and would relay the issue to the correct Parks Officer.

2 days later i was driving by Monks and saw a NJ Parks Police parked in the Iron Works lot. I pulled in and asked him about the nails. He had no idea what i was talking about and told me i wasted my time calling the Andover office. He said i should of called the Trenton office, but he said he would look into it and take care of it.

Launched last night and the rusty nails are still all over the ramp. I called the Trenton office on the spot and left a message.

See something, say something...yea right....See something, fix it yourself!

Next time I'm up there i'm bringing a magnet to clean the place up. If you lunch there, I cleaned up the right side of the ramp looking down the best i could last last night. Haven't been to the south ramp so who knows what surprises are over there.

Thanks for the warning.

I guess picking up nails isn't as lucrative as handing out tickets to kids swimming in the river.

That's going to be a nice accident when someone blows a tire coming down Skyline Drive.

Some people must have a lot of free time on their hands, it must be nice to enjoy that.

I launched there last night & there still were a lot of nails below water line.
The nails are rusty now so you can see them pretty clearly & seem to concentrated towards the deeper side of the ramp (towards the left when viewed from top of ramp looking @ the water.

Are there any roofers or contractors who fish there that has access to a magnetic clean up bar that is used to pick up nails from job sites. That would be perfect to clean up the mess.

Last night there were two KIELBASA brothers there in a bass boats who were pulling out as I was launching. They were right to middle of the nails & did not seem to have any issues but then again they were half in the bag...guess they ran of STELLAS as evident by all of the bottles I scooped out of the water on my troll. If you fellas are reading this please take care of your trash, do not run a 70p motor in a 10 hp lake. Knuckleheads like you are gong to ruin things for us all.

NEXT TIME I WILL GET YOUR NUMBERS & SET UP A MEET & GREET WITH RINGWOOD'S FINEST & THE WORLDS LARGEST STATE TROOPER WHO PATROLS THE AREA. YOU CANNOT OUT RUN A RADIO, they love guys like you.

GOD GAVE YOU A BRAIN, USE IT.
