Default Rare Winter Bluefish (photo)

Wanted to share this photo of a rare winter bluefish I caught on camera last night. Yes, cabin fever has finally set in. When does spring start again??

They've got to be one of the coolest creatures on the planet. When you see other birds with their heads torn off in you backyard, you know there's a family living in the neighborhood. Very cool picture, how did you take it? Motion activated camera, manual or did you download it! Either way great shot! If you figure out a way to tie your surf casting rig to one of those you'd probably be able to sneak up on any fish in the ocean, most stealth bird alive! Look at the talons on those things.....amazing! We found a baby owl, not sure which kind, years ago which we brought to the Raptor Trust. It had fallen from it's nest. The talons on this little guy were like razor blades even at that age. We kept it one night and brought it to the Trust the following morning. Remember the clicking sound it made with it's beak, whether it meant it was hungry or a defense mechanism but very very cool! If you ever see them in nature, they are truly an amazing sight!

Yeah - his hooting woke me from a sound sleep last night so I got up the nerve to gather my camera bag and go searching for him. A block away from my house I found him up in a tree. Despite the cold and wind I was able to get a few really nice shots using my headlamp spotlight and a nice zoom on my Nikon. There's just something about those yellow eyed demons.
