Meltzers Going Belly Up

I heard today after 101 years in business Meltzers is closing up shop.... Must be hard to compete with the big box stores. Anyway , they're having a big sale right now so take advantage!!

I bought my first gun there from izzy in 1983 , it is surely sad to see any business close. Very tough these days to,compete with the internet sellers ,eBay etc.

Damn that's my local shop. I can't believe they are closing. It seemed like they had good business there.Actually a couple months back I was there and they had boxes or rods and reels waiting for display. Going to be sad to see it go. Going to have to make a trip there tomorrow. Do you know the closing date??

Haha! Just hope we wouldn't sample to many of our own brews. Customers may end up with onions in they're bait bucket and shiners on they're hoagie!!

That's sad news. My grandfather bought me my first shotgun in there in 1989. I remember it like it was yesterday . It was a 10 gauge . A tank . Still use it to this day. Great bunch of old school guys in there . I get most of my rods and reels from them. Nothing like personal service with knowledgable people. They'll be missed . Sign of the times I guess

My grandpa and dad owner a sporting goods store for years and I have a degree in culinary arts and ran a pizzeria. I'm down for a one stop angling shop
