New guy
I've been a long time creeper on this site and finally decided to join. I'm from sussex county and fish for just about anything that swims. Lately I've had the itch to hit the Delaware for some flatheads since they are on my bucket list, but have no idea where to go. If anyone wants to go out one night this week or has any info that could help me, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks |

Re: New guy
Welcome welcome ....
Good change to be a regular, tons of info. For Delaware questions I would refer them to our regular Lunatic Mr. Eddy ... Drumroll please Andre |

Re: New guy
Thinking south for the flatheads, mostly tidal, would like to target them myself with rod and reel, I know some bow fisherman on here have nailed some nice ones. Good luck abtw, the state wants them dead, so enjoy the fillets!

Re: New guy
Much more than tidal! Wouldn't doubt they are all the way up to the gap! This one was caught by a buddy of mine about 5 miles South of P"burg/Easton!

Re: New guy
the flatheads are everywhere now, I was catching big ones as far as the gap last year. it's pretty easy, hook a 4-5" (or bigger) sunny (or anything legal thats alive) with a 6/o (or bigger) circle and a few ounces of weight on a fish finder rig, cast it out 20-30 feet and wait. go at night. i prefer slower but moving water. i dont think the spot even matters all that much, at night they are on the move and travel long distances in search of food. my biggest one last year was in 2' of water in a spot i thought was far from ideal because the group i was with weren't fishing and just wanted to do the camping thing.
there are probably many ways of doing it better than what i do, this is just my method. |

Re: New guy
I recognize that pic Poncho! That was a 26-27 pounder if I remember correctly. AWESOME!!!
Fishinpapp, the Flatheads are throughout the river now. Some stretches hold more than others but they are definatley there to be caught. Good luck on your quest. TIGHT LINEZ!!!

Re: New guy
Welcome aboard Papp it's about time lol. Now just gotta work on our buddy redi, who swears he tried to join but couldn't get through lol. I see you got a response from eddie, (the uncrowded freshwater king). I'd he says there spread throughout the river they must be. I know there is some deep holes just south of the gap, that area shouldn't be to bad. By the way great bunch of guys on here, with the occasional umm a let's just say not so friendlies lol check some of my posts you will see lol anyway good luck pal.
