Default Skunksville 5/24

Had some family obligations for most of the weekend but managed to make it out on Sunday night for some zombie fishing. Met my buddy at the ramp right around sunset and paddled off to an area that ScowardNJ put me on to. Had nice action for about an hour with the fish hitting pretty aggressively. Landed a Walleye, a chubby Largemouth, and a bonus Rockbass. Hooked up another Walleye about 4ft of my kayak that spit the hook (was totally zoned out and not prepared for it lol ). Big stickbaits in 5ft of water seemed to be the ticket. Action slowed down so we made a long paddle to a different area that did not produce for us. Some herring were spawning, while most were just hanging out in the area (bumped a lot). We called it a night around midnight without returning to the first area (too damn tired!) Saw 2 other boats out, 1 being the Bloody Decks boat that shot a HUGE Carp (38lbs from Adam's scale!!). Hoping he posts that for the world to see.

Some fishporn...

Nice work Rob, way to bang em out in the old skunksville. The herring seem to be just hanging out everywhere from what I hear, you would think they would be smashing like crazy on memorial weekend like every year. Mixed bag is always nice on tough waters, keep it up

There was a ton of herring swirling where it looks like its raining, but not many of the little spawning splashes, and maybe a handful of big blowups.

Sweet! I got out about 3 am to get me some of those eyes too. So cool to see their eyes glowing in the dark when they swim past you.

Nice work man. I have been thinking of taking my kayak out for some nighttime walleyes.
