Pre-season fluking - - legal or not?
Prior to the opening of fluke season on the 22nd of May, is it legal to fish for fluke with the purpose of scouting out good spots - catching and releasing of course? of just for sport. People fish for grouper down south when it is not legal season to keep them.
What's the difference between that and continuing to catch fish after you have your legal limit (fluke, stripers, etc)?

Re: Pre-season fluking - - legal or not?
The Regs state Size, Possession and Season limitations. If you do not possess a short or out of season fish, you are in compliance.
Similarly, if you catch an out of season sea bass while fluking and release it, you are not in violation of the Regs. IMHO |
