Default Reel Class Flukin' Reports 7/31 & 8/1

Sorry for the delayed reports again

The last 2 days we ran full-day fluke trips and stayed local because of conditions (S wind & S current).

Thursday 7/31: Had fish right away, but that quickly slowed. Had to bounce around to just get a few bites in the rough stuff. By noon time the S wind was SCREAMING and our drift neared 2 kts and fishing became very tough. We had a total of ~20 fluke for the day, half (10) were keepers and all of those fish (except 1 18"er) were in the 20-24" range. Also had a dozen nice ling.

Friday 8/1: 4 man open trip today. Started off where we left off yesterday and had a very slow pick, just a ling in the rough stuff. We then found a few inshore after a call from a friend and sloooowly picked away at shorts and keepers. Once that slowed, I tried the rough stuff nearby - NG, then shot off to a wreck another 5 miles off and that was NG. Finally came back inside where we were catching, and started catching again lol (shoulda never left!)
Had ~30 fluke today, another 10 made it but no bigger fish today, most were 18-20" and the biggest was 23".

2 nice days, things are definitely improving, but it needs to get better!
