Default Bass and Fluke Sun 6/8

Got out early Sunday morning hoping for some bass action before switching to fluke in the afternoon. Loaded up the baitwell and was ocean side by 5:45. Got setup and I had a nice runoff which I waited a good amount of time but the hook never set. Bunker came back whole so no bluefish. Roy hooked up and landed a nice on maybe around 30lbs. That was it for fish landed. Had about 10 runoffs but our hooking the fish was terrible today . Even had a couple of bass follow the bunker right up to the boat. No blues today. We didn't see any pods of bunker today off the Hook either. Surprised to not see a huge fleet out there for a nice Sunday.

Came inside and switched to fluke around noon time. I caught a 21" and we also had some shorts shortly after but then the south wind came up a little and couldn't get anything else after that besides a short or two. Thought we'd be packing it in by 2PM but we figured we'd hit the 1 can area before heading in.South wind was picking up even more but surprisingly we caught a few fish. Roy got 2 keepers including a 22", I caught another keeper and Paulie landed a nice 24" before we really started flying and we could not keep our jigs on the bottom for any length of time. So at least we ended up with a few fillets for the table.
