Hit the park tonight cause rain has rendered the Passaic, unfishable.........

It's still, LOADED, with stockies. Couldn't catch a one, but for an hour i watched small to med size trout rise, give me the finger, and land. Nothing worked........

Tried a size 1 mepps comet, worms, and pm spinners..... Nothing.........

I was there a couple of weeks ago and the carp were spawning and the water was a mess. It was also loaded with paddle boaters which made casting fun. Has the water cleared up?

stop in at sports authority or dicks

buy a pack of flies

take a bass popper and tie off about 1-2 ft of 2-4lb test mono onto off the bend of the hook, to which you then tie your fly.

cast the bug/fly combo out there near rising trout, twitch the popper a few times and hang on and wait for the hit.

if you get rejects, then try different flies, some floating, some not, until you get something.

it'll work.

Some of the activity may have been carp but a few times the fish came clear out of the water and they were def trout.

Ive been throwing spinners at VP, which produce a a few bass here and there but I havnt gotten any out of there this year.

Thanx for the tip, seems like bugs are all they wanted.

You know what, I've tried this little trick and it's murder on Bluegills. They just can't resist.
