while visiting my grandmother in staten island for mothers day i walked down the street to clove lakes park with a few rods and bait for catfish and carp even though i dont have a license for the state

. when i got there hundreds of sunnies crowded the shallows. they attacked my dough bait as soon as it hit the water. i then used hot dog chunks and got a handful of bulheads of all different sizes plus 2 snapping trurtles. no carp on corn or bass on wacky worms, but i saw alot of both species cruising around, big ones too. some old idiots throwing out bread in the water around my lines attracted a bunch of ducks and one swam into my line, got the hook caught in its chest and flew away, snapping me off. not to mention the fishing sucked once the ducks showed up

. i never seen a lake with so much life before despite being dirty and polluted looking. catch and release fisheries really benefit in the long run.
