Re: advice on a gps
The best ones on the market are the Garmin. You could get a decent one for $200.00 or so. Your best bet is to get it on Ebay.

A friend of mine has that unit and it's great. Fast to load and react, easy to use and Garmin has great customer support. You should get many years of trouble free use out of it.

Re: advice on a gps
Look around on craigslist. I just saw a 541 new in the box with all the hardware for $100. This was a few weeks back and now I can't find the ad......sorry
Any Garmin is the way to go
