Default Sat night on the big d

Had some free time and with the nice weather, couldn't pass up the opportunity to do a little night fishing. Got to my favorite spot around 6 and could see the water was high , but somewhat clean. Well, wasn't expecting much but gave it the old college try... and glad i did. First cast nailled a nice smallie about 20" . Fish hit at the end of the retrieve right at my feet. Thinking this could be the first cast curse but was pleasantly surprized a few cast latter. Something grabs my lure and is staying down, swimming up and down the hole. Could be a nice walleye? Nah fighting too hard. Could be a channel cat? ....maybe. after fighting the fish for a while, finally tired it out and brought it to shore. To my surprise, it was the biggest brown trout i have ever caught, and the first one i have ever caught on the delaware. PB brown trout and i am stoked...but like i said, i wasn't expecting much and left my phone in the car so no pics. Fish was a solid 22" i would say and just beautiful. More chrome than brown. I did end up catching another brown after i got my phone later that night. So 2 browns in one night on the delaware...freaking awesome. I'm no jdtune so this was a big deal for me.😀. Stayed a bit longer and was able to manage 2 short walleye, one 17 and one about 14. Missed 2 other hits. And called it a night at 10:30.

Wish you had more and better photos. I'm old school but still lug the digital camera around.
Here is a photo of a Sea Run Brown Trout caught off Cape Cod, notice the color and spots.

That’s solid action for March on the river! Beautiful Trout my brother! That water is still super cold. Way to make it happen!

Great account! I was just waiting in suspense to find out what the fish you had on was. Amazing you caught two browns on the river, one night.
