Weekend Surf
Beautiful weekend and got into some solid fishing near Lavallette. Started before sunset on Sat morning and was hoping for the first shot at bass but no luck. Plenty of blues on metals and mullet rig. Surf was loaded with fluke, caught 10 yesterday and 6 today in an hour. Most were spitting up little calico crabs and sand fleas when they got to the beach. Lots of shorts but a few decent size.
Grilled the blues with some olive oil, garlic, lemon and olives. Great weekend. Here’s to hoping for some cooler weather to kickstart the fall run.
