![]() Jason and I hit the Axel Carlson today. Started off bending the rod with a mixed bag of short fluke, sea robins, small ling and a bluefish. Made a small move to some high pieces and started working the edges. At first it was mostly fluke in the 16-17” class with some sea robins. Up until this point we were able to use 2 or 3 ounce bucktail with no problem but the south wind came up and we went to using hi-lo chicken rigs with 6-8 ounces. Then Jason put the first keeper in the box a very nice 24.5” flattie. I soon followed with a 19 inch keeper. Jason added another keeper before we decided to call it a day. Probably combined for 24 short fluke plus the 3 keepers-all but 2 coming on chartreuse GULP.
