Extremely stupid and dangerous, yes. But I'm not quite sure how drugs and booze got pulled into the post. Operating a vessel under the influance is certinly a problem But this sounds more like just plain dumb to me.

The boat course has no practical parts. In fact you can be legally blind and still get the Card in NJ. You know that?

Too many think the rules only matter when the state police are watching them. Otherwise it's a free for all.

Moron should have slid off the foredeck in the drink.

Was this guy 80 years old? Sounds like a geezer's boat?

And from what i saw the wheelhouse was on the upper deck! This man was trolling two rods...jigging on the bow aimed at the heavy boat traffic just ahead of us! And he was alone! I decided to be an ass for once and give him a wakeup...i flipped out my jig and snagged his trolling line and held on for over 100yds before he could make it to the stern. I yelled over to wake up and drive the boat! For the rest of the day i saw him trolling not leaving his wheelhouse. Sry if anyone thinks i was wrong but on a boat like that...alone....you cant fish the bow..be underway at trolling speed and troll at the same time...extremely unsafe...and with the amount of boats out there...just plain stupidity..just my opinion
