Default Pretty carp

First carp, and it took a lure!

Saw this guy in less than 3 feet of water at a pond by my college. Tossed my crappie jig by his side and I saw him suck it up off the bottom.

I set the hook and what followed was the best fight I've had on my ultra light.

Good thing I had a net

I'm actually curious if that's an old goldfish or an albino carp. That's awesome- they do that sometimes. Been a good year for u huh? Keep it up

Nice bag man! You've been getting into a lil bit of everything lately huh?!! I'm not sure, but I would think from the scales on that thing that it's a linear carp. Again, I haven't seen one in person yet but that would be my guess. Nice catches anyhow bro!!

Good guess, I'm thinking it's linear too.
It was probably bred to be this color, looks decorative while also stocked to eat up the overgrowing plants.

The pond was supposedly drained a year or two ago, so it can't be an ancient goldfish.

Very nice! I think those are also called mirror carp. Only a few big scales on them. They aren't that common, and I've only caught 3 out of hundreds of carp. Good job!

I'm not sure I would call that pretty...LOL I guess some would though. In any event, nice mixed bag brother.
