If that's the case the Tin Can will be making an appearance at Monksville for Muskie.

Ocean should be fine except for the building swell. That is if the forecast stays the same. 5 days out is a little early lock down forecasts during the winter, with fronts and systems every 3 days or so . I would watch out for whatever system is going to cause the 4 to 7 foot swell predicted for Sat. night. that could be a game changer.

Saturday right now looks like HARD NE to HARD N and if it's what it's advertised on these much more reliable forecasts (DON'T TRUST NOAA!) then it will be very sporty on Saturday.

As Bill said, call the captain if you're not sure. They will not steer you wrong

Well then you better consider rescheduling the trip my friend.

Updated forecast looks like NE to NNE gusting to 30, then swinging around to the west by the afternoon.

Give it time, see what happens. If the above forecast holds, be prepared to watch the NFL playoffs saturday

I'm not looking to be a statistic. I will very happily put the boat back on the trailer and go out for a seafood dinner.
For those that know me I sail in a 20 ft Tin Can so weather is very important to me.

I just recall Capt. Ron(who I admire) always said that west winds make for a good day on the water with calm seas.
Not always Cappy, especially this time of year in a 20 ft boat!
