Are there any negatives to using braid to snag up there? Is it against the law?

Not illegal. But I like to use it on my centerpin for steel. I wouldn't use it for spinning becasue its pointless and it sucks when you step into it. Also will cut through waders very easily when the fish is running.

Snagging is illegal and I will cut your braid if it comes near me.

I meant that braid isn't illegal. I should have worded it better.

There is no good reason for braid on the SR, especially during the salmon run. Considering that any fish found in the river can be landed on as little as 12-10 lb line by any half decent angler the only reason to use braid would be to rip fish. If a braid line comes by my boots on the river my knife comes out immedaitely. FAR too dangerous a line for the conditions that exist during the salmon run!
