Jimmy, I had a slob on the Monger last Wednesday. Same thing happend to the fish. Lip hooked and still it bled. Tried to release it, but it wouldn't swim down even after venting. Had to retrieve it. Oh yea, It tasted great. Congrats.

Just because the hook ends up in the lip does NOT mean that is where it originally was hooked. Sometimes, a fish will swallow the hook and it will tear its way out and end up in the lip. Thus, while the fish ended up being hooked in the lip, the hook caused internal damage beforehand.
