Re: Trolling motor battery recommendations
both inconvenient for me, but if it's by you do it, my point is... the brand doesn't matter, cause they're all crap so get one from a place that will be as convenient as possible to return it to when it fails...cause it will haha

Re: Trolling motor battery recommendations
YOUR best bet is to go to Walmart and get there 29 or 31 series battery's, they are under warantee for 2 years, just keep the receipt and they never have a problem taking them back for a new battery replacement.

Re: Trolling motor battery recommendations
I'll agree with Chrisper and Rich. Go and get a battery from Wal-Mart and use that. There just isn't enough of a difference to justify the additional expense of some big name brands.
I had more than a few different batteries over the last couple decades. I've owned a giant 80 pound Interstate battery, an Optima blue top, and more than a few other varieties and variations. For me, even the cheap-o walmart batteries last 3 or 4 years, and they cost way under $100. Keep it on the battery tender, and you're set. I've also found that I don't really need the cinder block size battery either. If you're strictly fishing electric only lakes then that bigger battery might be a better choice since it lasts longer, but I don't run mine non-stop for hours, so I don't need that capacity. |

Re: Trolling motor battery recommendations
Thanks guys. Sorry if i didnt post in here but in my fathers day post I mentioned that i took your advive and picked one up from walmart. Worked well and lasted all day. Threw it on the charger when i got home. One last question, when you dont use your battery for awhile, about how long do you let it go before throwing it back on the charger to ensure it keeps its life

Re: Trolling motor battery recommendations
Try not to store it on concrete and when you charge, charge it at the lowest setting on the charger. Keep your receipt in case you have any issues. Good luck with the rest Ryan.
