Just another blow to a fishery which has been going south at a rapid rate for years. Between the amount of shorts kept by people who are above the law, the Asian live fish market demand and now this technology, the fishery will be a shadow of what it is today within a few years and it's already a fraction of what it was in it's heyday. I'm all for technology to heighten the outdoor experience but when it comes at the expense of entire fisheries you have to ask yourself if it's all worth it.

I can’t say that I disagree with that. The fluke fisheries in the toilet with their stupid regulations that have been intact and the tog fishing hasn’t been what it was although this year so far has been pretty good. The more I think about it, I relate this to archery hunting. I was always an average archer and shoot, traditional bows and compounds. It really irritates me how everybody wants to run out and be an archery hunter now and shoot a deer the easiest way they can. In Pennsylvania they allow crossbows in the early archery season now right from the gate, which is bullshit. They’re just desperate for license sales in the game commission. The truth of the matter is most human beings are lazy as hell and want the easiest way to do something. Shooting a deer with a crossbow is not shooting a deer with a bow. It’s totally nonsense. I’m OK with them having crossbow season if that’s what they choose to do, but then it should be later after the traditional archery season. The game commission didn’t have to even legalize the crossbow for that matter. New Jersey or any state for that matter doesn’t have to allow the spot locks for fishing. I guess the bottom line is your grandkids kids will be able to go out on the ocean and play around with all kinds of technology and get on whatever a little tiny piece they want but they won’t have anything below them to catch lol.
