Caught a trout while carping
Went to church ⛪ and prayed for a miracle. It happened. Nobody was in my fishing spot on the Saturday evening after a trout stocking. Unbelievable. God is great . Hallelujah!!! Went carping in 58.3 degrees Colonial Lake this evening on a cold , cloudy ☁ day with a light northwest wind. Only saw 3 other fishermen near Route 1. Threw out Walmart canned whole kernel corn for chum, then caught a 15” 1 lb 9 oz rainbow trout on my first cast of the day with corn bait on my late brother John’s surf fishing outfit. That’s the first trout that I caught this year and the only one that I ever caught in the lake. Only had a few nibbles after that and caught nothing else. The trout fought harder than a carp or catfish of similar size. I’ll be looking for dead trout with corn in their stomach now.
