That's where most go wrong and, as mentioned above, adding a few half hitches with the braid over the mono after the initial knot is cinched can't hurt either...

Reverse Albright formed with a double line loop is all you will need inshore , I developed this knot to be a variation of a very solid knot for PP years ago . Other knots have extra steps and in my opinion are harder to tie , if your breaking this knot you did something wrong ! It's a 30 second knot if that !
Offshore you may wish to go another route but I stuck with this for tuna as well ! Under other circumstances I would got to HC anyway & splice ! Last edited by Capt. Lou; 12-27-2018 at 10:47 AM.. |
