I catch them on a # 9 floating Rainbow trt. pattern Rapala in the Delaware River.

One year in the fall @ dusk, near The Devil's Tea Table, I caught & kept a 21”er. Next cast, caught & released one @ 30” (my largest).

Believe it or not!

I'd love to see a pic of that monster!

No photo (I don’t carry a phone / camera when fishing). A co-worker of mine caught a similar sized one in the Delaware River @ Carpentersville. It is on the wall here @ The Freshwater Fisheries Lab, Lebanon. Stop by sometime to see it.

Some time ago, a NJDF&W wildlife toxicologist investigated a fish kill on the Delaware River where The Devil’s Tea Table shelf crosses the river. One fish was a walleye, very decomposed. He estimated it @ > 13 lbs.

i think the secret to catching a 30" walleye in new jersey is to not carry a phone or camera with you hahaha I just want to see one.

I have a friend that exaggerates fish sizes when telling me stories for trips that i was there with him..."i was there" "oh yeah, remember it was 30 inches!?" "no we measured it, it was 27" hahaha

I think it's gotten to the point where where fishermen exaggerate fish size because they assume everyone is going to think they're exaggerating anyway haha
